This painting was inspired by the quiet miracle of the “whale fall”—how a whale’s body, after death, becomes a sanctuary where new life blooms for decades.

Out of loss, something beautiful can rise.

Over time, the whale’s body feeds hundreds of marine creatures, birthing a whole ecosystem that could not exist without it. Even in death, the whale gives. Even in silence, it nourishes.

When something ends, something else is already unfolding beneath the surface.
